Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G/F Andrew Wiggins
Golden State Warriors Receive: F Tobias Harris, F Furkan Korkmaz, 2022 First-Round Pick (No. 23 – PHI), 2023 Second-Round Pick (PHI)
One thing is for certain: this would be an odd way for the Warriors to repay Andrew Wiggins for his outstanding NBA Finals.
Nobody expected Wiggins to be as key to an NBA championship run as he was. After being selected first overall in the 2014 draft, he’s largely fallen short of expectations. The dreaded “bust” label has been readily applied to him for years.
It shouldn’t ever be again.
Wiggins’ transformation as a player has been remarkable to watch. While he was drafted to be a primary offensive option, that role never suited him. On the other hand, he’s thrived as a 3-and-D wing with secondary shot creation chops.
