Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
Any question surrounding the Phoenix Suns this summer double backs to Deandre Ayton.
If he’s really less than a max player, the Suns should have no trouble replacing them. Next season will put their evaluation of Ayton to the test. If he’s a sub-elite player, then they should have no trouble replacing him, right?
Maybe the Suns stick with one of JaVale McGee or Bizmack Biyambo in the middle next year. Perhaps they shop around for a middle ground between Ayton and those two. Could Nerlens Noel be available? How about Richaun Holmes?
Either way, if the Suns intend on replacing Ayton in a bid to compete next season, they’ll need veteran reinforcements. Eric Gordon would be a great addition to this squad. If they fall short of contention, it won’t be due to having acquired him.
