Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Indiana Pacers
Flipping the script to look at this hypothetical deal for the Pacers, there is no question that this would be a no-brainer move. Indiana is going through a rebuild, but they don’t want to stay outside of the playoffs for long. Adding a piece like Tyler Herro would help them speed up their rebuild.
Over the last few years, Myles Turner has been a name that has been very available in NBA trade rumors. Prior to the decision to trade Domantas Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings for Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers had made some progress on the trade front regarding Turner. They could look to get aggressive and move him this offseason.
Herro is coming off of a big season with the Heat. He ended up averaging 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 0.7 steals per game. He shot 44.7 percent from the floor and connected on 39.9 percent of his three-point attempts. Adding a piece like Herro would give the Pacers their starting back-court for years to come.
As we previously mentioned, Robinson may not stick on with the Pacers for long. Indiana could look to flip him in a separate deal or simply play him for a year and look to move him later. There is a high premium on shooting in the NBA and Robinson is one of the best in the business.

Being able to stay in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft would be a plus for Indiana at No. 27 overall. Adding another first-round pick in 2027 also gives the Indiana Pacers a chance to use it in another deal.
Indiana would be making a mistake by passing this trade up if it became available. They may not have a chance to acquire Tyler Herro, but he would be a perfect fit for them. Both players involved in this deal are likely to be involved in a ton of NBA rumors this offseason.
