2. Charlotte Hornets For Gordon Hayward

The Charlotte Hornets are in the market for a big man this offseason. They have been linked to Myles Turner, who would be a sizable upgrade on what they have at the position the last few seasons from a defensive standpoint.

Improving their defense is key for the Hornets to take their game to the next level. The hiring of Kenny Atkinson is a good step in the right direction when it comes to that, as he does well setting defensive schemes.

While Kevin Love’s defense isn’t great, he would be a good fit offensively. He can knock down 3-pointers at a good clip to keep the spacing. Watching him throw outlet passes to start fastbreaks led by LaMelo Ball would be a lot of fun as well.

In this scenario, the Cavaliers can likely get a first-round pick from the Hornets as well. Charlotte wants to move on from Gordon Hayward and this would provide them an opportunity to do it.

When healthy, Hayward would be a great fit on the wing in Cleveland. He is a great secondary playmaker, can handle the scoring load as a go-to player and offers some versatility on defense. Injuries are a red flag, but at the very least, Hayward can provide good 3-point shooting to help keep the offense moving.
