Making the Case: Charlotte Hornets
It feels like it’s been years of “Charlotte Hornets could trade for Myles Turner” in the NBA trade rumors circuit. With him entering a contract year, it seems more realistic than ever.
The Hornets have a desperate need to add a better center and had interest in acquiring Turner before the midseason deadline. However, his foot injury made the timing too difficult to pursue a deal considering they had a playoff push to focus on.
Now that Turner is fully healthy and the focus is on the 2022-23 season, the timing is ideal. The Hornets have the 13th and 15th overall picks in the 2022 NBA Draft at their disposal to put together an enticing trade package for the Indiana Pacers to consider.
There may not be a better option for the Hornets than Turner. He would significantly raise the floor of their defense with his rim protection and would bring an athletic, jump shooting option as a play finisher in their half-court offense.

The Hornets would also add a solid backup point guard in TJ McConnell. Adding more depth in the process certainly wouldn’t hurt with solidifying a competitive roster.
