Indiana Pacers Receive: F Kelly Oubre Jr., C Mason Plumlee, 15th Overall Pick
In this NBA trade scenario, the Charlotte Hornets would acquire Myles Turner and TJ McConnell in exchange for Kely Oubre Jr., Mason Plumlee, and the 15th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Both of the players the Hornets would be sending the Pacers are set to enter the final year of their current contracts. Indiana would be able to free up cap space for next offseason.
Only $5 million of Oubre’s $12.6 million is guaranteed for the 2022-23 season. Plumlee is set to earn $9.0 million in the final year of his deal. The Pacers could waive him and clear $7.6 million for the upcoming season.
The Pacers would send out $26.1 million in salaries and would clear $4.4 million in the process. Next season, Turner is set to earn up to $18.0 million and McConnell earning $8.1 million.

The Hornets would need to come to an agreement on a contract extension with Turner at some point. They’d have through next summer to do so given his eligibility timeline.
