The Portland Trail Blazers are a team that is going to look to make some splashes this offseason. They went into a bit of a tank mode the second half of the 2021-22 NBA season following the abdominal surgery that Damian Lillard underwent.

With Lillard out for the season, the franchise changed course. They traded away numerous veteran pieces, as CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, Robert Covington, and Larry Nance Jr. were all traded.

That helped them bottom out as much as possible to improve their NBA Draft Lottery stock, ending up with the 7th overall pick. They also have a ton of flexibility when it comes to the roster, as they have a lot of salary cap space at their disposal.

All of those assets will be used to help rebuild the roster around Lillard. He is still the face of the franchise and the centerpiece of this team. Everything they do this offseason will be done with him in mind and help get the Trail Blazers back on track and competing for a playoff spot.
