The Portland Trail Blazers want to turn things around instantly. Bringing in established veterans to upgrade the roster around Damian Lillard is the plan this offseason and the No. 7 overall pick is their best trade asset.
In this scenario, they use it to land the versatile, two-way forward, OG Anunoby. They have been linked to the Detroit Pistons and Jerami Grant, but if a deal for Anunoby is on the table, that is where they should give their attention.
Anunoby would be an excellent fit alongside a backcourt of Lillard and Anfernee Simons. Some believe that he can have a similar career path as Kawhi Leonard, as he has a similar body type and skill set as a young Leonard.
Only turning 25-years old this summer, Anunoby would help the Trail Blazers win games now and be a piece for the future. If he did take that Leonard-type leap, Portland would be in business with a superstar.
