Nobody expected anything more from the Denver Nuggets than what they gave us in the 2021-22 NBA season.
It was always safe to assume they’d make the playoffs. Rostering reigning back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic offers that security. Outside of a postseason performance, this team had minimal expectations heading into the season.
That’s because the Nuggets started the season without Jamal Murray. Like any team, they projected to struggle without their second offensive option. When Michael Porter Jr. went down early in the year, they lost their third man.
Never mind the past. Both men ought to return healthy in 2022-23. The Nuggets will have their talent back, and with that talent will come expectations.
