Indiana Pacers Receive: C Steven Adams, 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Toronto Raptors Receive: C Myles Turner, G/F Dillon Brooks, 2025 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2027 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F/C Pascal Siakam
The question here is, would the Toronto Raptors prefer a better upgrade at center or an extra first-round pick?
Make no mistake: Myles Turner would be a better acquisition than Steven Adams. While Adams is a non-shooter, Turner is a career 34.9% marksman from long distance. He’s also one of the league’s foremost rim protectors.
Of course, he’s no Pascal Siakam. That’s why the Raptors are receiving two first-rounders and Dillon Brooks in the exchange. Still, the logic is the same as it was in the last deal. The Raptors improve their floor balance while gaining draft capital in the process.
We’re not making any predictions here. We expect Pascal Siakam to continue his residence north of the border in 2022-23. On the other hand, there are fair reasons why these Raptors could look to move him.
