Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F John Collins, F De’Andre Hunter
Atlanta Hawks Receive: C/F Anthony Davis
This is likely the baseline package the Atlanta Hawks would have to offer to land Anthony Davis. Any reasonable offer at least begins with John Collins.
After all, his name has been in trade rumors for years. It may be time for the Hawks to finally pull the trigger on a deal. Granted, doing so for Anthony Davis is a risk. He’s been injured for the better part of two seasons. On the other hand, at 29, he could still return to his previous form. This’ll look like a steal if he does.
It still has the potential to be a good value trade for the Lakers. They’re adding depth by acquiring two fringe stars for one clear one (assuming Davis makes a comeback). Given their thin 2021-22 roster, that might be a wise decision.
Of course, by that logic, the Lakers may prefer a different package. If the Hawks think Davis has the potential to regain his form and be the second star they need alongside Young, they might be willing to give up a great deal of roster depth.
