Atlanta Hawks Receive: G/F Ben Simmons
Toronto Raptors Receive: F John Collins, F DeAndre Hunter, C Nic Claxton
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F Pascal Siakam
Ironically, it may be the smallest name that’s most enticing to the Toronto Raptors in this deal. They could make great use of Nic Claxton.
He’s one of the most versatile defensive centers in the NBA. Last season, the Raptors didn’t have a starting center at all. Claxton would be a perfect fit on this roster, and that’s before considering the premium talent the Raptors acquire here.
John Collins may be a better fit alongside Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes as well. He’s not as good as Siakam, but he is a more dangerous off-ball threat. Collins is more effective both rolling and popping out of pick-and-roll sets.
He’s just not at the same level as a playmaker. If the Raptors are keen to cede more playmaking duties to Barnes, that won’t be an issue.

Under that premise, this deal only falls apart if the Hawks’ prior interest in Simmons has waned. In that event, these two sides may need another third team to help them get a deal done.
