1. New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are desperate for a point guard this offseason. There has been a void in their lineup in that spot for years and it is about time that they fill it up. The Knicks are one of the teams rumored to be looking to move up in the 2022 NBA Draft and they should have their sights set on Jaden Ivey should they find a trade partner.
Ivey has all the makings of becoming a lead guard, which the New York Knicks need. While he needs some experience in the position, as he wasn’t always playing point guard for Purdue, New York should give him the keys to the offense and allow him to learn on the job.
Ivey would be an excellent foundational piece for the Knicks to build around along with RJ Barrett. Seeing those two in the open court with Obi Toppin would have Madison Square Garden rocking on a nightly basis.
There also may not be a better coach when it comes to getting the most out of players on the defensive end of the court than Tom Thibodeau. Ivey has all of the tools to be a multi-positional, lockdown defender, standing 6’4” with a 6’9” wingspan; he just needs to find consistency and Thibodeau would help him do that.

Ivey is everything that the New York Knicks are looking for. The Sacramento Kings, who own the fourth overall pick in the draft, need to be on speed dial for New York. That is likely the team they will have to make a deal with to move up the board high enough to have a chance at selecting Ivey.
