The Portland Trail Blazers are a team that is going to be very aggressive this offseason when it comes to filling out the roster. They bottomed out during the 2021-22 NBA season after it was announced that Damian Lillard would be sidelined following the procedure on his abdomen.
Portland traded away CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, Larry Nance Jr., and Robert Covington as a result. The goal was to clear as much cap space and add as much draft capital as possible to help improve the team’s outlook for the summer.
Lillard is who they want to build things around, as he is going to be healthy heading into the 2022-23 season.
Portland isn’t a team that is looking to rebuild, as they want to get back to being competitive as soon as possible. It makes sense, as Lillard isn’t getting any younger, turning 32-years old in July.

As a result, there have been a ton of mock trades and discussions about what Portland could do to upgrade their roster this offseason. They have the cap space to be aggressive in free agency, but can also swing a sizable trade should the opportunity present itself.
One team they could match up with well when it comes to making a deal is the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers have a few veterans that would fit the bill of what the Trail Blazers are looking for in guard Malcolm Brogdon and center Myles Turner.
