The Hypothetical Trade

Wizards Receive: OG Anunoby
Raptors Receive: Kyle Kuzma, No. 10 Overall Pick

Should the two teams have interest in getting a deal done, it wouldn’t be that hard. In this particular scenario, both teams would be getting pieces that would be major additions to their rosters.

Taking a brief look at things for the Wizards, they would be adding a much-needed wing presence alongside Bradley Beal. Anunoby has been steadily developing and improving for the Raptors and brings a great combination of offense and defense. Washington added Kristaps Porzingis in the front-court at the trade deadline during the season, which could help them make a move involving Kuzma.

On the other side of the deal, the Raptors have a log-jam on the wing. With Anunoby and Scottie Barnes playing very similar games, trading the former Indiana Hoosiers’ standout could make sense. They won’t move him just to make a trade, but getting back front-court help in Kuzma and the No. 10 pick might make them consider pulling the trigger.

Obviously, this is a deal that fans will poke holes in on both sides. Why would the Wizards give up the No. 10 pick to make this deal happen and why would the Raptors necessarily want Kuzma?

But, with that being said, it’s a deal that could make sense depending on the situation that each respective team may find themselves in this offseason.

Let’s dive in and take a closer look at how this trade could make sense for both teams involved.
