With the 2021-22 NBA offseason right around the corner, teams are already starting to put together their plans for the future. Two of those teams are the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards, who are both entering very important offseason periods in their own different ways. One player who could hear his name mentioned a lot in NBA rumors will be Wizards’ forward Kyle Kuzma.
Kuzma is coming off of a breakout campaign with the Wizards. He took over as a full-time starter after being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers last offseason in the blockbuster deal that sent Russell Westbrook to L.A.
In the 66 games that he played with the Wizards this season, Kuzma started in all 66. He ended the season averaging 17.1 points per game to go along with 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Those numbers showed major improvement and much better consistency than he had shown a year previous with the Lakers.

While the Wizards could opt to keep Kuzma and build around him as part of their core, he is also one of their best trade assets. If they want to make a sizable deal with another team, Kuzma will be a name that is brought up in most scenarios.
