Making the Case: Utah Jazz

Given how challenging it is to bring a star player to the Utah Jazz, they should not prematurely look to end their relationship with Donovan Mitchell. If they feel it’ll be a challenge to keep him long-term and receive an appealing trade offer, it could be logical to consider it.

The Knicks have plenty of options to offer when forming a Mitchell trade package. There’d be almost a completely supporting cast to embrace with some young players like Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, and Cam Reddish.

The Jazz would need to find a new dynamic guard to build around long-term. Quickley would get his chance to prove himself, but if he proves to be best suited for a more modest role, they’d have extra assets to pursue another option in the future.

There’d be quite a bit of depth for the Jazz. They would still have Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson, and Royce O’Neale along with Gobert. In the short term, they’d have no shortage of talent to be competitive in the Western Conference.
