Indiana Pacers Receive: G Alec Burks, F Cam Reddish
New York Knicks Receive: C Myles Turner
Realistically, it’s entirely possible that both teams would prefer this arrangement.
The New York Knicks give themselves a better chance of being competitive in 2022-23 by retaining Fournier. Moreover, they get to hold onto their first-round picks in the event that they’re unable to do so.
The Indiana Pacers’ incentive here is less clear. With that said, if they see untapped potential in Cam Reddish, they’ll be happy to do this trade. As it stands, they don’t have a wing on the same developmental timeline as Tyrese Haliburton and their upcoming sixth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Whether they see that potential in Reddish is a different story. So far, his NBA career has been disappointing after having been a highly touted high school prospect.

On the flip side, Reddish is only 22. He has ample time to develop into the 3-and-D wing with secondary shot creation abilities that many foresaw him becoming.
On the other hand, if the Pacers don’t see that potential in Reddish, there’s another way to get Turner to the Knicks. It’s just going to require a blockbuster.
