The 2021-22 NBA season was a failure for the New York Knicks. There’s no nicer way to put that.
After advancing to the postseason the year prior, they fell well short of that mark in 2021-22. In fact, they didn’t even qualify for the play-in tournament.
Much of that can be attributed to Julius Randle’s decline in play. Specifically, his three-point shooting cratered from elite to downright awful.
If he’s able to get his career back on track for the 2022-23 season, it might be that the Knicks landed a complementary player for him in the offseason.

Myles Turner would certainly be one. If Randle played alongside a center with a 34.9% career three-point percentage, so much wouldn’t rest on his own three-point accuracy.
