Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Spencer Dinwiddie, C Dwight Powell, 2024 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL), 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL)
Washington Wizards Receive: F John Collins, C/F Onyeka Okongwu, 2027 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2028 First-Round Pick (Swap – DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: G Bradley Beal
The Mavericks will be impartial between all three of these deals. In each, they’re swapping control of their draft from 2024 to 2028 in exchange for Beal.
Realistically, it’s all they have to offer. This club is light on interesting young players outside of Josh Green. Still, if they’re willing to offer a whole lot of draft capital, there are packages they can offer for Beal.
This one lands the Wizards two potential All-Stars. If Collins has hit his ceiling, he’s still a very productive 24-year-old. On the other hand, the younger Onkongwu was making a case for a starting position for the Hawks towards the end of 2021-22. He’s got ample room for growth.
Speaking of the Hawks, they may not love this deal. At the same time, they appear motivated to move on from Collins in an effort to clear space for Trae Young’s next co-star. If they’re viewing his contract as a net negative, they’re effectively swapping Okongwu for a first-round pick and a swap here.
