Golden State Warriors Receive: C Myles Turner, G/F Buddy Hield
Indiana Pacers Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, G Moses Moody, No. 28 Pick in 2022 NBA Draft

The Golden State Warriors are going to have some difficult decisions to make this offseason. With their luxury tax bill soaring, they have to decide what they want to do with first-time All-Star, Andrew Wiggins.

Wiggins is going to be a free agent in 2023 and they may not be able to afford to re-sign him. If they come to that conclusion this offseason, they will use his contract as a way to bring in some talent to upgrade the roster.

In this scenario, they use Wiggins to upgrade two areas on the roster. Myles Turner can step into the starting center spot, while Buddy Hield brings even more 3-point shooting to the wing. Hield could take over the starting small forward spot or become a sniper off the bench to bolster a second unit that could have several defections this offseason.

Leading up to the trade deadline, the Pacers were reportedly looking to acquire multiple first-round picks or a combination of young players and picks. This should suffice, as Moses Moody was a lottery pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and they are getting a first-rounder in this year’s draft, No 28 overall.

While Wiggins may not fit the timeline perfectly, he is only 27-years old. If he fits in well with what the Pacers are building, they shouldn’t hesitate to extend him. He has begun living up to the lofty expectations of going first overall in 2014 and could be a building block for Indiana for years to come as he enters his prime.
