5. Detroit Pistons – Shaedon Sharpe
With the Detroit Pistons being so early in their rebuild — even with a franchise cornerstone in two in Cade Cunningham — their ideal choice would be to take the player with the most potential available. That would be redshirt Kentucky Wildcat guard Shaedon Sharpe.
Although Sharpe failed to play a single game in his freshman season in college, he showed off enough tantalizing offensive talent in high school to guarantee himself to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft. Sharpe is the best athlete in this draft outside of maybe Ivey and Jalen Duren.
As a high school senior, he proved to be a tough shot-maker, someone who can score from all three levels and can create a good look for himself at any time. Not only is he an excellent athlete with elite touch, he also comes with great size as a shooting guard.
At 6’5 with a nearly seven-foot wingspan, Sharpe has the physicality to be an impactful player on both ends of the court one day.

Sharpe certainly doesn’t have as high of a floor as Keegan Murray or AJ Griffin, considering the fact that no one’s seen him play against real competition since high school, but his tantalizing potential should make him Detroit’s number one target at this point in the draft.
