Sacramento Kings Receive: F Tobias Harris, G/F Matisse Thybulle
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Harrison Barnes, C Richaun Holmes

Of course, there are two sides to every trade. The Sacramento Kings are also in win-now mode. They won’t be giving Harrison Barnes away.

This trade should suit both sides. The Philadelphia 76ers get a two-way upgrade over Harris in Barnes. They’re comparable players, but Barnes is just a little more sound on the defensive end. They also get the best backup they’ve ever had for Embiid in Richaun Holmes.

Meanwhile, the Kings take a slight downgrade in Harris in order to acquire Thybulle. They’re likely to need him. Any team featuring Domantas Sabonis at the 5 is likely to thrive on offense and struggle on defense.

The Kings might live with Thybulle’s offensive limitations in order to compensate for Sabonis’ defensive ones.

On the other hand, they may prefer to just keep Barnes for the sake of this package. Sabonis also thrives with floor-spacers. Thybulle, to date, has not proven to be one.

If this deal doesn’t suit the Kings, there’s still a way for them to get value by moving Barnes to the Philadelphia 76ers. It’ll just have to involve a third team.
