Making the Case: Phoenix Suns
It is hard to believe the Phoenix Suns would want to trade its center, especially after seeing how Deandre Ayton has produced with Chris Paul at point guard.
Regardless, if a deal cannot be reached, it benefits Phoenix to get a return rather than allowing him to leave with nothing.
Paul was able to help Ayton take the next step and he would be tasked with another project in Ben Simmons. Phoenix has built one of the most reliable cores in the league. The front office has wanted to build depth and head coach Monty Williams has bought into the plan. This team has been unable to get a championship to town but they will remain at the top of the league for years to come.
If Simmons is brought in, he would have to take on a role down low. At 6-foot-10, Simmons has the size to compete with other forwards and the athleticism to cause major problems. If he wants to venture out to the perimeter, Paul will have to set him up in a position to be successful.

A player like Simmons seems lost and cannot be plugged into any scheme in the league. This means it would benefit him to have a strong head coach and leader in the locker room. Williams and Paul fit the bill and this is why Simmons could resurrect his career with the Suns.
