The Phoenix Suns were considered the best team in the NBA from the opening weeks. The postseason was a different animal and Phoenix was eliminated prior to the Western Conference Finals. With one of its top players without a contract, this could be an interesting offseason for the front office.

Deandre Ayton was unable to come to an agreement with the Suns last offseason. Chris Paul opted out and was given a new four-year contract while Mikal Bridges signed an extension of his own. Ayton seemed to be the odd man out and remains available for the future.

At this point, if the two sides are unable to get settled on an agreement, it would benefit Phoenix to send him away in a trade. The Brooklyn Nets are another elite team in the league that could be looking to balance down low.

It is clear that Brooklyn has been aggressive over the years bringing players like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. After a tumultuous season, the Nets could be looking to make some changes beginning with the frontcourt.

If Ayton is available, there will be many teams interested in a young, promising big man. Let’s take a look at a potential deal that could land the center in Brooklyn this offseason.
