The Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls are both franchises with storied histories. Unfortunately, both also have murky futures entering the NBA offseason.
The Lakers are in an especially tight spot. After failing to even participate in the 2021-22 play-in tournament, they’ve got a lot of questions, and precious few answers. They’re cap-strapped, draft poor, and old.
Meanwhile, the Bulls aren’t in a much better situation. It’s looking increasingly likely that Zach LaVine will not resign with the team. They had a fairly successful 2021-22.
Still, if 49 wins and a first-round exit weren’t enough to impress him, that’s all Chicago can do.
