Washingon Wizards Receive: G Jalen Brunson, G Tim Hardaway Jr., F Josh Green, 2027 First-Round Pick (DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: G Bradley Beal
Whether the Washington Wizards found this trade acceptable or not would likely depend on how they view Jalen Brunson.
The 25-year-old emerged as a potential star in 2021-22. Still, the operative word there is “potential”. If the Wizards think he can hit another level, they’re getting a good return here.
After all, Josh Green has established himself as one of the better wing defenders under 25 in the league.
If he can start knocking his three-ball down with some consistency, he’ll be an archetypical 3-and-D wing. Finally, they’re getting Hardaway Jr. to make the money work and a first-round pick.

A young player with star potential, another with starter potential, and a first-round pick are a solid return for a star. On the other hand, the Wizards may lack confidence that Brunson is likely to hit a level where he justifies this deal.
In that event, a three-team structure may better suit them.
