Dame Time in the Garden just feels right. New York and scoring guards go together like pizza and a thin crust. If Damian Lillard is going to leave his small market Portland Trail Blazers, he might as well go all the way.
Throw Lillard on this current New York Knicks roster, and they probably don’t make an NBA Finals appearance. Go call the fun police. They’ll still field a competitive roster. The NBA is a better place when the Knicks are decent.
That’s been all-too-rare an occurrence for far too long. In acquiring Lillard, the New York Knicks give themselves an opportunity to return to relevancy. With some other solid offseason moves, who knows how far they could go?

Damian Lillard may very well retire a Trail Blazer. There’ll be something to admire about that if it happens. On the other hand, if he seeks out a more competitive situation, it’ll be hard to blame him for that either.
