New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans need a point guard. That’s the logical starting point here.
They may not need one on Damian Lillard’s level. Counterpoint: they’d sure like one. Acquiring Lillard, at the right price, could launch this team into serious title contention.
If that’s the goal, they can’t part with either Zion Williamson or Brandon Ingram to land him. Cobbling together a deal might prove difficult, but it shouldn’t be impossible. The Pelicans could include veterans Jonas Valanciunas, Larry Nance Jr., and Devonte’ Graham as salary matchers. That alone gets them close to Lillard territory.
Of course, it doesn’t for the Portland Trail Blazers. They’ll need picks, and they’ll probably need lots of them. Fortunately, the Pelicans are in an ideal position to oblige them. They’ve got one of the biggest collections of draft capital in the entire National Basketball Association.

Ironically, the Portland Trail Blazers just traded CJ McCollum to the New Orleans Pelicans to bust up the defensively challenged Lillard/McCollum backcourt. Something tells us that if they’d shared the floor with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, things could have gone differently.
