1. Anthony Davis
If the Atlanta Hawks want to make a return to the Eastern Conference Finals and eventually beyond, they should take a swing for the fences. They saw how close they could get with the group they had, but need another star to take it over the top.
So, why not call the Los Angeles Lakers and see what it would take to acquire Anthony Davis? Facing their own roster issues, Los Angeles may have to consider trading Davis so that they can rebuild the roster and restock their draft capital.
Atlanta can build a very competitive package with a good mix of veterans and young players to appease the Lakers. The Hawks also have all of their first-round picks and an extra in 2023 via the Charlotte Hornets, so draft capital isn’t an issue.
Anthony Davis is the kind of two-way star that Atlanta would love to pair with Trae Young. Injuries are a major concern, but when healthy, he is one of the best players in the entire league. He would make for an excellent co-star alongside Young.

His rim protection and defensive versatility would add some much-needed juice to that end of the court. With Clint Capela in town, Davis can remain at power forward as well, which is his preference.
The offensive game plan would have to be adjusted slightly, as Young averaged nearly eight more shots per game than the next closest teammate.

But, there isn’t a player on the Atlanta Hawks roster currently that demands the sort of offensive load that Anthony Davis would. Young would have to adjust, but if it meant more winning, it is something he should be more than willing to adapt to.
