3. Donovan Mitchell/Rudy Gobert
Just like the Atlanta Hawks, the Utah Jazz is likely heading toward an offseason that will include some big changes to their roster. Utah has found a lot more success than the Hawks have in recent regular seasons, but it is actually Atlanta who has had the deepest playoff run of the two franchises.
The Jazz could have their hands forced this offseason into moving Donovan Mitchell. Knowing that it is either he or Rudy Gobert that is going to be on the move, the Hawks need to get involved for either of the Jazz All-Star duo.
Should Donovan Mitchell leave the Jazz, the Hawks are one of the three teams that have been mentioned as a franchise he would have interest in, along with the New York Knicks and Miami Heat. Adding another dynamic scorer alongside Young would certainly make the Hawks’ offense even more potent.
However, it is the defensive side of the ball that Atlanta should be focusing on. Gobert would certainly help on that end as he is one of the best defensive players in the NBA. He would instantly improve them on that end of the court as an anchor that can impact the game without having the ball in his hands.
