Making the Case: Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder just signed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to his contract extension, which is why it would be interesting to see a move get made.
There isn’t a need to move on from Gilgeous-Alexander by any stretch. He presents great size for a point guard and has shown an all-around skill-set that any offense could use. If he were to be traded, it would be due to the value they could get back.
The Thunder had some options with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. They could go the route of taking a frontcourt complement for Gilgeous-Alexander and the rest of their core.
When looking at the return, it is clear that Derrick Rose and Evan Fournier would be included purely for salary matching reasons. Receiving four first-round picks would be hard to turn down.
