Making the Case: Brooklyn Nets
To consider this deal, the Brooklyn Nets need to bet that Chris Paul has another high-level season in him. If he does, he returns the Nets to superteam status.
Chris Paul, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant would be an unstoppable offensive trio. Adding Jae Crowder to space the floor and contribute defensively would be icing on the cake for Brooklyn.
In this deal, Brooklyn loses Ben Simmons – but that’s something they may be happy to do. GM Sean Marks recently commented that he wants players who are “available,” and Ben Simmons has not been that.
Adding a proven veteran like Chris Paul on top of a first-round pick would be a no-brainer.
