Making the Case: Phoenix Suns
DeAndre Ayton is a clear flight risk – though the Phoenix Suns have the right to match any offer he receives, it’s likely Ayton will earn a max deal this offseason. With his displeasure at the end of Phoenix’s season, it may be best to let the center go. Still, the Suns would be wise to attempt to get something in return.
Chris Paul had a tough finish to the year. Recently turned 37, Paul is one of the oldest players in the league. There’s no telling how long his talent will be able to keep him at a productive level. Moving on from Paul when value can still be recouped could be wise for Phoenix.
Jae Crowder had a tough playoff run, notably shooting 3-26 from three against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Suns have plenty of depth to replace him, should they send him out via trade.
Adding Ben Simmons and Bradley Beal would give the Suns the replacements they need for their departing stars.
