Utah Jazz Receive: F John Collins, G Kevin Huerter, 2023 First-Round Pick (ATL)
Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
If a Mitchell-to-Atlanta trade does transpire this summer, this feels like the most likely iteration of a deal.
The Utah Jazz may prefer to grab some proven NBA talent. As a small-market club, they’re typically opposed to orchestrating long-term rebuilds. This deal allows them to stay competitive, get younger, and gain some draft capital in the process.
John Collins is the centerpiece here. At 24, he still holds much potential. He’s a springy power forward with three-point range.
His ability to either roll or pop out of pick-and-roll sets keeps defenses guessing at all times. He may never be a primary initiator, but even if he never progresses at all, he’s a high-end NBA player.

Meanwhile, Kevin Huerter is no slouch. At 6’7, he’s got great positional size at shooting guard. He’s capable of getting hot from long-distance, and he’s a solid defensive guard as well. Between him and Collins, the Jazz receive two quality young players on top of a first-round pick here.
On the other hand, if the Jazz want to go a more conventional rebuilding route, the Atlanta Hawks could facilitate that as well.
