Chris Paul
If the Los Angeles Lakers were able to trade for Chris Paul, all they’d have to do is retain Carmelo Anthony and coax Dwyane Wade out of retirement. Suddenly, they’ve finally assembled the Banana Boat team that fans have always dreamt of.
That’s far from the only appeal in landing Paul. In stark contrast to current Laker point guard Russell Westbrook, he’s the perfect floor general to place alongside LeBron James.
After all, he’s one of the most reliable floor-spacing point guards in the NBA. That’s the beauty in Chris Paul’s game: he can be a primary initiator or a secondary option. He is entirely portable. He would, in all likelihood, revolutionize this Lakers offense.
Jokes aside, his pre-existing chemistry with James (and possibly Anthony) would likely have a real on-court impact as well. As two of the brightest minds in the history of the sport, there’s no reason to think they wouldn’t be able to work out a lethal offensive attack.
