2. How Do The Warriors Attempt To Contain Luka?

The easiest way for the Golden State Warriors to come away with a victory in this series is to slow down Luka Doncic. He is the engine that makes the Dallas Mavericks go and the Golden State Warriors has created excellent game plans in their first two series against stars.

Nikola Jokic and Ja Morant both had big performances, as Jokic averaged 31 points in five games and Morant averaged 38.3 in three. But, the Warriors went 6-2 in those games as they will allow the stars to get theirs, but will cut off the opportunities to get their teammates going.

Golden State is comparing what Doncic does to what they faced off against when the Houston Rockets were thriving with James Harden at the helm. There are certainly some similarities, as both teams put the ball in their stars’ hands and let them run the show, surrounded by shooters and looking for spots to attack.

The Warriors will be in trouble if they allow Doncic to get going and his teammates begin feeding off of him. Small-ball lineups will pose some issues for Golden State as slowing Doncic down with Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Reggie Bullock, and Dorian Finney-Smith surrounding him.
