Detroit Pistons Receive: F OG Anunoby, F/C Chris Boucher
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F Jerami Grant, C Kelly Olynyk
Toronto Raptors Receive: F/C Anthony Davis
Consider this LA’s “keep Westbrook” package.
It’s probably not an outcome most Los Angeles Lakers fans are hoping for. Westbrook became a scapegoat for many of their problems in 2021-22. At the same time, a roster built to maximize his strengths could do his production wonders.
They’d have one after making this deal. Olynyk is a much more reliable floor-spacer than Anthony Davis. Of course, the main appeal here is Grant. He also fits snuggly in a James/Westbrook offense. He offers the necessary floor-spacing in addition to the ability to attack close-outs and play versatile defense.
Meanwhile, the Pistons swap him out for the younger Anunoby. He’s a 24-year-old 3-and-D wing who still holds some potential as a secondary shot creator. This trade feels like a no-brainer for them.

Finally, the Raptors get their big man. They’ll have to part with at least one of Siakam, VanVleet, or Anunoby to land Anthony Davis. If they’re not willing to do so, they’ll have to make a smaller acquisition elsewhere.
