San Antonio Spurs Receive: F OG Anunoby, 2024 First-Round Pick
The Toronto Raptors are a team that could look to shake things up a little bit this offseason. They performed much better than many predicted that they would in the 2021-22 season, finishing in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto is ahead of schedule but could look to push closer to contention adding a player of Murray’s caliber. Murray would provide the team with another playmaker to take some pressure off of Fred VanVleet and Scottie Barnes. Murray fits the philosophy that Nick Nurse has instilled as head coach with his versatility on that end of the court.
OG Anunoby saw an increased role in the offense this season, scoring a career-high 17.1 points per game. He wasn’t as efficient as in years past, but the Spurs could like what they see enough to hope that they can coax some more production out of the potential that Anunoby possesses.
He has the prototypical build for a dominant two-way wing player. Seeing what the Spurs were able to do developing Kawhi Leonard early in his career, it would make some sense if they think they can replicate that to a degree with Anunoby as well. The Indiana product is right at the age that Leonard was when his game took off to the next level.

Already owning the Raptors’ first-round pick in 2022, the Spurs will pick up their 2024 selection as well. Murray is the more established player at this point, so it makes sense that San Antonio would hold out for draft compensation down the line.
