Making the Case: Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have arrived in the Western Conference. After two consecutive first-round exits, the Mavericks were able to win a playoff series in their third straight year in the postseason. Now, it is about putting even more pieces around Luka Doncic moving forward.
Jalen Brunson took over as the starting point guard this season and averaged 16.3 points per game. His scoring numbers have shot up in the postseason.
It is likely that Brunson earned himself a nice contract in free agency and could be moving on from the Mavericks. While he’s been heavily linked to the New York Knicks, there remains a strong chance he returns — making Spencer Dinwiddie an appealing potential option.
Where the Mavericks could benefit from adding a dynamic threat is in the frontcourt to give them a scoring threat to attack from different spots on the floor.
