Making the Case: Philadelphia 76ers
We have seen the Philadelphia 76ers take big swings at times by acquiring names such as Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler in trades. James Harden was the most recent of these acquisitions. Could another big move be on the horizon?
As good as Tyrese Maxey has been, Damian Lillard would take the 76ers’ offense to the next level. He would form a dynamic pairing with James Harden in the backcourt with Joel Embiid manning the middle.
This would potentially give the Sixers the most-balanced big three since the Miami Heat in 2011. Embiid would be in the frontcourt while Lillard and Harden take care of business on the perimeter.
If the Portland Trail Blazers are willing to move Lillard without getting Harden back, this is a win for Philadelphia. It is obvious that they are not going to trade Embiid under any circumstance. They will have to part ways with one of their young studs, but they can keep Maxey is another win.
