When it comes to floor generals, they don’t make ’em like Ricky Rubio anyone.
He’s the exception to today’s score-first rule. Rubio isn’t a game-breaking force to be reckoned with. He’s a game manager. He won’t lead your team to victory, but he’ll enhance the play of those who will.
That’s perfect for an LA Clippers team loaded with alpha scorers. Rubio’s ability to facilitate should bode well for a roster full of guys who are mostly known to call their own number.
Unfortunately, the longtime veteran tore his ACL this season. The Clippers will be banking on his rehab. They’re also in an ideal position to do so. They don’t necessarily need anything: acquiring Rubio would be a luxury. They can be patient as he rounds back into form.
