New York Knicks
The New York Knicks have been pursuing an All-Star for years now, but perhaps it’s time for them to pivot. They’ve done a nice job accruing a solid young core consisting of RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Cam Reddish, Quentin Grimes, Obi Toppin, Miles McBride, and Jericho Sims.
This past season, it was their veteran players that led to a disappointing season that failed to see them make a return to the playoffs.
After acquiring Kemba Walker, Alec Burks, and Evan Fournier in the off-season, Leon Rose and the rest of the Knicks brass expected the team to improve on their surprising successes last season. But their new additions, Julius Randle, and Derrick Rose all underwhelmed and the team underperformed as a whole.
It’s become clearer that their 2020-21 season was an anomaly. On the bright side, New York did mine some gems in their young core. Now, it may be time for them to lean fully into a rebuild, shed their veterans, and try to acquire as much young talent as possible.

The Knicks would be adding a young lead guard in James Bouknight that could grow alongside RJ Barrett and the remainder of the Knicks core. He certainly has the potential to fill the All-Star void they’ve been dealing with for years down the road.
