Utah Jazz Receive: F Andrew Wiggins, C James Wiseman
Golden State Warriors Receive: C Rudy Gobert
There’s no means to dealing Rudy Gobert to the Golden State Warriors without including Wiggins. Unless, of course, you can envision a world where the Warriors deal one of their star trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, or Draymond Green.
We can’t. Those three are woven into the fabric of this team. Furthermore, they’d be acquiring Wiggins for the sake of staying competitive. The chemistry between that trio is immeasurably valuable from that perspective.
Of course, losing Wiggins hurts in that regard as well. He’s had a breakout 2021-22 season, being named an All-Star starter. He still projects as the most likely Warrior to be deemed extendible in a bid to add Gobert.
Difficult decisions are part of an NBA general manager’s job. Nobody likes to trade a valuable player a year after their best season in the NBA.

Still, the opportunity to add the league’s best rim protector to an already elite defense may be too much to pass up.
As for the Utah Jazz, this return may motivate them to part with that same player.
