Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers may not seem like a plausible home for Irving. They simply don’t have assets to spare to make a deal for him.
Unless, of course, they do?
The conversation starts with Paul George, assuming that Kawhi Leonard is a non-starter. George probably would be too, but the Clippers may be able to talk themselves into swapping him for Irving to improve their floor balance. Rather than doubling down on two-way wings, they’ll now be pairing one with an elite offensive guard.
Otherwise, the Clippers could try to dangle some combination of contracts and draft capital at the Nets or leverage those assets in a three-team deal. The Nets would only entertain such scenarios if they felt desperate to make a change. Even then, that change is likely to start with Ben Simmons.

By that logic, an Irving-to-Clippers scenario is generally unlikely. They’d probably opt to keep George, and the Nets would probably opt against anything else they can offer. They should still monitor Irving’s availability by way of due diligence.
