Making the Case: Washington Wizards
It is the same song and dance each offseason for the Washington Wizards. Is this the year that Washington decides to blow it up completely? Will Bradley Beal be traded? These are the questions asked since John Wall was sent to the Houston Rockets.
The two situations were different, and the Wizards held onto Beal. He has said all the right things in the media and has backed up his notion of wanting to retire a Wizard.
It will be interesting to see if either side changes their mind but if so, there will be plenty of teams interested in an elite scorer.
Washington added Kristaps Porzingis at the trade deadline in a deal with the Dallas Mavericks. Kyle Kuzma was also added as a part of the Russell Westbrook deal.

There is an interesting deal for Washington that could continue to be built with first-round draft picks. That is what they would be able to get in return for Beal, along with some short-term contracts.
This trade is partially about the draft picks coming back, but the main benefit is sending the franchise in a different direction. With Beal out of the picture, the front office can completely set its mind on rebuilding.
