Miles Bridges
Predicting that a player will stay with his incumbent team is boring. That doesn’t mean it isn’t frequently the right decision.
Miles Bridges made tremendous strides in a Hornets uniform this season. He has a strong case for the league’s Most Improved Player award. He’s got such good chemistry with LaMelo Ball that they’ve earned the nickname Air BnB. The Hornets can’t break that up.
They may have had higher hopes for their 2021-22 season, but higher expectations may have been unrealistic. With a sophomore running point and a severe lack of big men, the Hornets aren’t built for the present.
Provided they retain Bridges, they should be built for the future. As one of the best run-and-jump athletes playing power forward in the NBA, he’s a perfect compliment to Ball. Finding compliments for your franchise player is the name of the rebuilding game.
