Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics had a rollercoaster of a 2021-22 regular season. Luckily for them, it ended at the fun part.
From the All-Star break onwards, this Celtics team wasn’t just formidable. They had the highest Net Rating in the National Basketball Association. They’ll certainly hope to extend their momentum into the postseason.
If the Celtics can’t, a lack of point guard depth may be the culprit. Marcus Smart has done an admirable job filling that role, but he’s still not a conventional floor general. Derrick White, his backup, is even less of one. He’s a scorer to the core of his DNA.
Derrick Rose would be an upgrade from either in terms of playmaking ability. Smart was just named the first guard to win Defensive Player of the Year since Gary Payton in 1996. Imagine how impactful he could be on that end with Rose lessening his offensive load?
