Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Should the Thunder look to move on from SGA in pursuit of the league’s all-time most prolific tank job, the Suns should be in immediate contact with Sam Presti.
A Booker/Gilgeous-Alexander backcourt would instantly be among the most talented in the NBA. SGA’s unique ability to find driving lanes will always draw significant defensive attention. Devin Booker’s sweet-shooting is built to exploit it.
After all, we’ve already seen Booker function alongside an elite point guard. Chris Paul and Gilgeous-Alexander may not be perfectly comparable players, but we at least know that Booker is comfortable ceding some ball-handling duties to his backcourt mate.
Meanwhile, Gilgeous-Alexander hasn’t had as talented a backcourt mate as Devin Booker since, well, Chris Paul. More significantly, he’s never had the opportunity to function as a point guard alongside such a dynamic scorer. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see his assists per game skyrocket alongside such Booker.

It would be equally unsurprising to see the Phoenix Suns’ win total follow the same trajectory.
