LA Clippers Receive: G Jamal Murray, F Michael Porter Jr., 2024 First Round Pick (DEN), 2026 First-Round Pick (DEN)
Denver Nuggets Receive: F Paul George, F Marcus Morris Sr.
The last deal saw the LA Clippers parting with draft picks. They’re so light on draft capital that we had to use picks that won’t convey for seven years. This deal sees them remedy that issue.
It also doesn’t necessarily make them better in the short term. For that reason, it’s likely to be too risky for their taste. Still, it has enough merit that they might want to keep an open mind.
Michael Porter Jr. is obviously injury-prone himself, but he’s a stud when he’s able to get on the floor. He’s a sweet-shooting 6’10 wing/forward who can generate three-pointers out of thin air.
That’s not an easy player type to find. Murray is still the centerpiece for the Clippers here. He’s young enough at 25 that he could easily surpass Paul George in a matter of years.

As for the Nuggets, they may be suffering from buyer’s remorse following the robust contract that gave MPJ last summer. His back injuries make him a risky proposition. Here, they’re getting off that pact and acquiring a win-now superstar in George in one fell swoop. Of course, it’s costing them Jamal Murray and two first-round picks.
